Cabbage Rolls Recipe

Tender cabbage leaves filled with meat and rice, cooked in a rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large cabbage
  • 1 lb ground meat beef or pork
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare and soften cabbage leaves.
  2. Mix filling ingredients.
  3. Fill and roll cabbage leaves.
  4. Add sauce to pot.
  5. Arrange rolls and cover with sauce.
  6. Simmer or bake until cooked.

Notes

  • Soften leaves properly
  • Do not overfill
  • Roll tightly
  • Cook gently
