A rich and smooth caramel sauce made with sugar, butter, and cream.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Method
 

  1. Melt sugar over medium heat.
  2. Add butter and stir until smooth.
  3. Slowly add cream and mix well.
  4. Stir in vanilla and salt.
  5. Cool slightly and serve.

Notes

  • Stir constantly
  • Do not burn sugar
  • Add ingredients slowly
  • Thickens as it cools
