Chicken Tacos Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn tortillas or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • ½ cup sour cream optional
  • ½ cup salsa optional

Method
 

  1. Cut chicken into small pieces and season with spices and olive oil.
  2. Heat skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken until browned and cooked through.
  3. Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  4. Fill each tortilla with cooked chicken.
  5. Add lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and cilantro.
  6. Squeeze fresh lime juice over tacos.
  7. Serve with sour cream or salsa if desired.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs can be used for extra flavor
  • Warm tortillas for the best texture
  • Add avocado for extra creaminess
  • Spice level can be adjusted easily
  • Leftover chicken works great in salads or burritos
