Congee Recipe

A comforting rice porridge slowly cooked until creamy and smooth.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup rice
  • 8 cups water or broth
  • 1 tablespoon ginger sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Topping:
  • 2 green onions sliced

Method
 

  1. Rinse the rice.
  2. Combine rice, liquid, ginger, and garlic.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Simmer until creamy.
  5. Adjust consistency and season.
  6. Top with green onions and serve.

Notes

  • Stir occasionally
  • Add liquid as needed
  • Simmer slowly for creaminess
  • Reheat with extra liquid
