Drop Biscuits Recipe

Easy homemade biscuits made by dropping dough onto a baking sheet.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar optional
  • ½ cup butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for the best texture
  • Do not overmix the dough
  • Customize with cheese or herbs
  • Best served fresh
