Method
- Rinse and clean mussels removing any beards.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot.
- Cook shallot and garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in white wine and simmer briefly.
- Add mussels and cover the pot.
- Steam 5–7 minutes until mussels open.
- Stir in parsley and lemon juice.
- Serve immediately with crusty bread.
Notes
- Discard mussels that do not open after cooking
- Use fresh seafood for the best flavor
- Do not overcook the mussels
- Add cream for a richer sauce
- Serve immediately while hot
