Panna Cotta Recipe

A silky smooth Italian dessert made with cream, vanilla, and gelatin, served chilled with fresh berries or fruit sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh berries or fruit sauce optional for serving

Method
 

  1. Sprinkle gelatin over cold water in a small bowl and let bloom for 5 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in softened gelatin until fully dissolved.
  4. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Pour mixture into serving glasses or ramekins.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  7. Serve chilled with fresh berries or fruit sauce.

Notes

  • Do not let the cream boil.
  • Use high-quality vanilla for the best flavor.
  • Chill overnight for the best texture.
  • Can be served in glasses or unmolded onto plates.
