Reuben Sandwich Recipe

A crispy grilled sandwich filled with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and creamy dressing.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 8 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 pound sliced corned beef
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup sauerkraut drained
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened

Method
 

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.
  2. Spread Thousand Island dressing on the inside of the bread.
  3. Layer Swiss cheese, corned beef, and sauerkraut on one slice.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread with buttered side facing outward.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Grill the sandwich for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Drain sauerkraut well to avoid soggy bread.
  • Use medium heat to melt cheese evenly.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture.
  • Pairs well with chips or pickles.
