Sausage Egg and Cheese Casserole Recipe

A warm and hearty breakfast casserole made with sausage, eggs, cheese, and bread baked to perfection.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease baking dish.
  2. Cook sausage until browned and drain.
  3. Spread bread cubes in dish.
  4. Add sausage and cheese on top.
  5. Whisk eggs, milk, and seasonings.
  6. Pour mixture over casserole.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until set.
  8. Let rest and serve.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for the best texture
  • Can be prepared overnight
  • Add vegetables for variation
  • Store leftovers up to 4 days
