Sofrito Recipe

A vibrant and aromatic blend of herbs, peppers, and garlic used as a base for many dishes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro
  • ½ cup fresh parsley
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Chop peppers, onion, garlic, and herbs.
  2. Add all ingredients to a blender.
  3. Pour in olive oil and lime juice.
  4. Add salt and pepper.
  5. Blend until desired consistency.
  6. Use immediately or store.

Notes

  • Keep slightly chunky for the best texture
  • Use fresh herbs only
  • Freeze in portions for convenience
  • Store up to 1 week in the fridge
