Tomatillo Salsa Recipe

A bright and tangy salsa made with tomatillos, peppers, and fresh herbs.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb tomatillos husked and rinsed
  • 1 –2 jalapeños or serrano peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ onion
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 –4 tablespoons water optional

Method
 

  1. Remove husks and rinse tomatillos.
  2. Roast tomatillos, peppers, garlic, and onion at 425°F for 10–15 minutes (optional).
  3. Add all ingredients to blender.
  4. Blend until desired consistency.
  5. Adjust seasoning and serve.

Notes

  • Roast for smoky flavor
  • Adjust spice level easily
  • Let flavors sit before serving
  • Store refrigerated up to 5 days
